I would not list the measurements of the property for them. They probly don't care. They might try to price check you by the square foot anyway which is the way to NOT price jobs, but they may or may not know that.

Why have "Approx. $65 - $75 weekly mowing ", why not a set, firm price for mowing each week??

If you are going to approximate, why not tell them the services to be performed exactly and give them a total anual price? Any other services than what is listed is extra.
Jeeps are like women.....much more fun with their TOPS OFF!

Alpine, I'm thinking that what you listed here was just to describe the property to us. Not what the bid looks like. If not, do what Elwood said.

It sounds like you've got a better handle on things than you did when you made the first Church estimate. How did that one go? I'd say that $65 for mowing sounds about right. Try to find a place on the property to dispose of clippings if they are insisting on bagging. The rest of the prices sound good. I'd go with the $250 for the shrubs. It sounds like they are pretty small.

Good luck. Let us know what happens with all of these.

            Thanks RRS and all ..

I will find out this week or next week about the situation, I gave them the almost exact quote that you gave me!

            $70 / 575 / $150 for mowing, hedge trimming, garden bed

If I didnt get these bids, then I guess I priced too high!

I hope you didn't misunderstand what I gave you on the first one. I gave you a set monthly price for 10 months of service that incuded the mowing, pruning, and cleanups all for one set weekly/monthly price.

I just figured the cost of everything, added it all up, and divided by 10. That's how I do extended contracts. You can do 12 months if you like, a lot of folks do. But, since I only do residentials I've found that 7 or 10 month contracts work best for me.

Nope, RRS; I appreciate what you did and thank you very much for the quotes.

I will be doing it on a 21" mower lol, can't afford a walk behind as of yet!

I put out 2 bids and I will be putting 1 more bid in the next week when the pastor comes back from his vacation.

The only thing I am worried about is, overbidding.

If I didn't get these church bids, then I guess I bidded too high because I used the prices you gave me and maybe $5 less or more that's about it!

Man, don't worry about using the small mower. Just show up on time and do a good job. It won't be long and you'll have a little extra to drop on a used walkbehind.
