WA State requires a written Accident Prevention Program and our Dept of Labor and Industries provides a sample program and tell us how to write one. Hawaii probably has one of those government depts. also. The material is usually free since taxes pay for the information. If Hawaii has a Farm Bureau, they would have a program you can adapt. If you strike out, send me your address and I'll mail you a CD copy you can adapt to your operation.

It can be as simple as Who, What, Where, and How to report emergencies. The safety stuff that is included in each equipment manual can be included as part of the training given, etc.

Contact EX Mark. They were giving out copies of a safety film called Driving In The Safety zone. It's about simple rules to follow when operating a Z turn mower. They had it in dvd, tape and disc. A lot of other company's should have training materials and video help.
After getting all free materials, you may want to compile things that pertain mostly to your operation and then write/rewrite yourself a training manual aimed at your company's needs. This takes a while to do and the manuals should be updated as your operation changes or you add a new piece of equipment. All new employees will need to go thru a class room and a hands on training session as well as the employees you have now. Check with the state on how often training must be performed.

      Good luck!
