  • Contracts

Im new to this business except for taking care of my own lawn, and I was wandering about the contracts. Do you write up a contract with every new customer? Could somebody give me an example of what their contracts look like? Also, should I get a lawyer to write one up or can this be done myself and still be a legal contract? I'm full of a lot of questions about this business, and thanks to this website and you good fellows or ladies, I can learn a lot here without getting myself in trouble, Thanks for any information that you can give me.

I got mine from this forum under free stuff for the business. I just changed the wording around alittle but to fit my needs. It is very simple to use.

There is a forum catagory called "FREE ---> For You & Your Business!" You will find some contracts there.

Consulting a lawyer is not a required to create a legal contract. Be sure to check wording, and be specific about work included as well as work not included. Most of the sample contracts you'll find on this forum and on the web are pretty good with the wording and format. Just be specific. Also, in reality it is an "agreement" until it's signed by both parties. Then becoming a contract afterwards.

If you are near a Office Depot; Staples; Borders Book Store; Barnes and Nobles Book Store; or ask if your local outlet can order the following for you:

"Credit Manager" by E-Z Legal Forms, 1994. It has useable, generic forms for any business application need. Can be copied or used as a basis for your own form.
"301 Legal Forms and Agreements" by E-Z-Legal Books, 1993.
Ironclad generic forms for business and personal use.
"The Most Valuable Business Legal Forms You'll Ever Need" 2nd edition, 1996/98 by James C. Ray, attorney at law.

Or you can buy generic contracts at any of those places. I have taken these and adapted it for contracting. There will probably be newer additions of these available. All 3 are similar in the forms they offer.
