  • Square/Rectangular Hay Bails for Seeding

Hey Guys, i was wondering if anyone here buys 45 footer trailers of hay? Do you buy yours straight from farmers or go to the farmers exchange and buy it there. I am asking because i think it would be cheaper to buy my hay from a farmer and mark it up to what i want to sell it at. And if you do buy your hay from a farmer what do you pay per square/rectangular bail.

Buy it from the farmer, Out-Of-The-Field.
It will be cheaper that way.
Now, why do you want bales of hay ? .... To feed cows ?
For seeding, wheat straw is a lot better.

You could contact your local farmer's supply or extension agent for names of people that sell straw. Straw will do you a much better job since it won't have weeds in it to start in the new yard.
