  • whoaaa, 1st time yellow pages!!

Phew, I'm going to advertise in the yellow pages next year!

The book starts in Nov'04 and runs til Nov'05.

Damn, what a deal I got I think..

    1/16th display ad = $93 a month ..
That's just the regular ad yellow and black..
the full color is like $200 a month.

    1/8th of a page is = $183 a month

I think i'm going to try out the 1/16th display ad fo rnow!

You guys have good luck with atht?

That's a good deal! Most of my business comes from my quarter page yellow pages ad and a display ad in the local weekly newspaper.

Alpine, you said in another post that you charge $25/hr. That means that you have to work more than 14 hrs to put your add in the yp for one month! Now I remember why I dont advertize there.

Here's my suggestion ... it's not size so much it's whether what you go with gets noticed ... okay try this ... look at the page where you'll be ... if (IF) there are no circular shaped ads or no triangular shaped ads or no black background yellow letter types running yours that way or shape WILL set you apart from the others ... the most noticed ad is usually a circle ... not a square or rectangle like everybody else uses.

Now look at this forum page logo name
Lawn Service Forum ... it's an oval shape for a good reason ... an oval is easier on the eye to follow than if it were a boxed rectangle or boxed square.

Phil Nilsson - good idea ..

I dont think oval, circular shaped ads are allowed in the yellow pages. I've only noticed boxed shapes!

BCSTEEL - well, I'm usually working in a 2 man crew so it works out to $50 - 60per hour and I pay him $10/h.

YA dude, the market over here in Vancouver is swamped with tons of landscapers. I see tons and tons of new landscpaers everyyear.. MORE COME, MORE LEAVE..

I haven't done the yellow pages thing up till this point but does it cost to just put your name and number in there just like your home stuff? Yellow pages and the paper seems like it cost sooooo much
