What kind of Licenses do you need in florida?

What type of License(s) would you need to start a lawn service in Florida? Any help is appreciated. I want to start this out the right way.

Florida only requires a occupational license to mow lawns or trim shrubs and trees. These can be acquired from your county zoning board. Some cities also require a business license, check with your city for these licenses.

Now these License do not allow you to apply any pesticides including Roundup or do any irrigation repair. These all require special license.

Roundup license is a big issue here and to have a Roundup license can make you or break you. Weed control is very important Check with your county extension agent or Check out Bob Kessler sticky post in the pesticide forum. You need proof of 3 year in the Green Industry to get a Roundup license.

Each year thousands of people try the lawn mowing business here in Florida. More fail than make it. Lack of understanding the real skill of lawn care is the reason. Short money and lack of business knowledge also cause failure.

I would recommend that you work for a mowing company first to learn the business first.
