  • Anyone Tried Any of These Marketing Ideas

Has anyone tried any of these methods...

Gift Certificate Exchange w/other local business
Sponsoring a Gift Giveaway for New Home Buyers thru a Realtor
Sponsoring a Goldfish Bowl drawing at a local restaurant and giving away $50 in services to obtain marketing info

Just curious if you have and if so... was if successful. Thank you.

Those seem like good ideas but you do want to be careful with how much money you put into sponsorships like that, especially if your main goal is just to gather marketing information. That means you are paying once for the sponsorship and again to actually market to the names you collected. Your time and money may be better spent just passing out fliers or business cards door to door.

so far for me the best marketing is by word of mouth and the people see your work.... slick marketing ideas do not seem to work around here. they want to see the results. i have found that after you get into a neighborhood you always pick up new accounts quick becuase they can see the work that you do. in my neighborhood there is 119 homes and not one lawn care outfit cutting any of them for the 6 years previous that i know of. i started out last year and now i have 9 of the neighbors that i cut for. each one started out with i can't do mine this week whould you cut it for me just one time please? they have all ended up as a yearly agreement. $900.00 a month and i ride my mower to most of them.

          Well, since Ric isn't around......

          Opey:

Do not let Deputy Fife see you riding your mower on the street, as he will be sure to cite you, and impound your mower.

"take down your fishing pole, and meet me at the fishing hole. Cause there's no other better way to pass the time of day!"

It's real bad when you know the words to the theme song.
