business license?

Could anyone point me in the right direction as to where to get a business license? I'm in St. Louis. For whoever is in a large city, where did you go for yours and approximately what did it cost? Thanks

I live in Richmond, Virginia area and just got my business license. I went to the Clerk of Circuit Court office, of the county that I live in and will base the business in, and thay directed me down the hall to right place. I had to search through a few books to see if the name I wanted to use was already taken. It wasn't so I paid a $10.00 fee to register my name. Then I had to go to the Commisioner of Revenue office to file for a business license. You just fill out a little bit of paper work and your done. It only took about an hour.

i lve in fayetteville arkansas and all i had to do was go to the county clerks office and get it it cost me 25.00 . i wouls suggest calling the local court house and asking them they can point u in the right direction
