  • Starting A Lawn Care Business

Hello. I currently own a decal shop and looking into starting lawn care to offset my income from the decal shop. I thought about renting equipment as I schedule jobs to see how things pan out before I sink a big investment into equipment (what's everyone's thoughts on that?). I won't need any advice on getting anything printed as I do all that stuff in house myself. The only thing I would need advice on is pricing, contracts, scheduling. Anyone have any pointers for me to help point me in the right direction?

for equipment i wouldent rent it isnt worth it your going to lose money. i recently started a buisness and i just bought used equipment it runs fine and gets the job done for me. What i did with pricing was i priced slightly cheaper than my competators to help me get work at first to show people that i do a good job but over time raise my prices little by little to a good normal price. Biggest thing is to get your name out there then work will come
    Good Luck with your buisness

I agree, I'm not so sure renting would be the best idea. I would give it more thought, then either jump in, or wait. You don't have to spend a heck of a lot to start up anyway......that's why you see so many guys out mowing lawns.

why don't you expand your decal shop? Do you have truck, trailors, mowers, trimmers, blowers, ect? To get back to your orginial question, I wouldn't rent mowers and other small equipment. The only equipment that we rent is is stuff that we only use ocassionally.
