Go into the email scanner from the AVG control center, click properties, and make sure under progress, that show notification icon and show information window are checked.

Also, while you're at it go into email scanner, click configure, and make sure check incoming mail and check outgoing mail are checked.

Not that I know much in the grand scheme of things, but everything I know about computers I figured out by playing around.

A good question Casey. Probably not. Maybe check around the RIT Labs website, or do a search and see if anyone uses it for that.

I made a house call on a PC that was slowed down to a crawl via malware via M$ internet explorer.

Using the AVG trialware I was able to get the machine back into service without a full format.

Their friend (a IT dude at the hospital) suggested they buy some crap from the geek squad at best buy for $40 bucks that did not quarantine all the malware.

As far as freeware and cool stuff, this site rules.

Spybot, Ad-Aware SE and CCleaner are very useful, effective and free. I also use the SpywareBlaster.

Oops, maybe I didn't put AVG on that computer. It was Adware? Hmmm, I thought that's what an old post said from Woody and GrassMaster. I must have missed the AVG part. I really don't use that computer to check e-mails, but I will have to get it anyway.

What the heck is Adware then? Did someone say to use that program for something?

Yeah. AdAware. You're missing an "A" in there. Or just use Ewido, which I gave a link to earlier (at the Grisoft site, the same place for AVG Free).

Come on Erich, get up to speed man!
