Lost space after I cleaned out my email

I finally emptied like 3k emails in my "In" box to "trash" bin and then emptied my trash bin and I lost space on my HD. Like a whole GB! How did that happen?:alien:

I would bet for some reason it got tossed in the recycle bin.....

Do you have a shortcut to it on your monitor?????

Only as i think they come from the factory with a little icon saying recycle bin right on the monitor screen ,then just click , it will open , hit "delete all" and i would think that would do it....

Ohh maybe this might behelpfull "if" you cant find it ,or dont know about the trash bin thingy.....:laughing:

recycle bin was not a factor.

I've disk cleaned 4Xs, defrag'd 4Xs and rebooted after each occurance. For some reason I have a lot of files that won't defrag. I was at 51% and now I'm stuck at a best of 22%. Not sure what's happening here because I used to have a scheduler and that is not up and running anymore either. I've gained about 2GB after all this so not all is lost.

Slow here so im gonna shoot ya a question about that there problem , with a idea that enterred my mind.....

How big is your hard drive to start off with and how much did you actually loose?????

Im wondering if you may have some giant movie or video files that got stored on the hard drive as unmovable files (for whatever reason)so if i were you i would do a search of the hard drive for VTS files

If you find VTS or _VTS files in sizes like 225,000-800,000 kb`ts each "delete them" , 1 by one and see if the space comes back.....

Ohh if you had old vid files and delete them they probably would need a second deleteing again from that trash bin.....

Maybe the wife or kids downloaded some video files and their either not in their compressed form or you just have a whole lot of video files hiding in there that were saved and for "whatever" reason did not automatically delete....

Maybe they have been there all along and you just noticed less disk space after the mail deletion and the mail has nothing to do with anything.....
