  • Wow...First Thread!! About tgcmd.exe

Okay, Sadly, I buy a new computer every year cause I get tired of dealing with problems that show up, like programs messing up, things slowing down, whatever. Go figure.

So, my new one has run perfect up till now. I ran a full system scan with Nortons. For some reason, my Outlook Express now takes like 2 minutes to load. It use to be instant. But now it just has the square logo on the screen saying it is loading...but man it takes alot of time.

Also (while I'm at it), siince the last system scan, at start up I get Nortons kicking out a message saying....

"Malacious Script Detected" It is the infamous 'tgcmd.exe.

It recommends stopping the script which I do, but prompts me every time I start up the computer. I tried quarantining it, but it won't let it.

Maybe another computer is in order?? I hope not. Other than that, this one runs perfect.

quote:TgAddServer tgfix.exe Part of a program called Tioga from Support.com - included on @Home service installation disc. It's installation was so you could get your @Home service updated automatically without having to go to their pages and downloading the newest patches, however.. it's also spyware the company distributes on it's installation disc and uses to collect information on your computer, where you've been, what you've downloaded, etc. It's not only safe to disable, I'd highly recommend it unless you like other people looking inside your computer. Removal procedure here
Tgcmd tgcmd.exe Spyware as above. TGCMD is also part of Sony's Vaio support agent - designed by Support.com. If TGCMD is disabled, it will be necessary to recover the computer in order to use it again

The computer I speak of is a new Sony Sammy!! Good job. But I think I had it on one of my HP computers too.

So, what you are saying is that if I get rid of TGCMD, I will have to do a system recovery?? If so, I think I'll just prefer to get spied on!

I usually just give them away. I don't have any Laptops to move out just yet. Maybe next year I will replace my sweet Toshiba that I bought last month. It is turning out to be a nice computer. I have a Sony that will be a year old in March. I may be replacing that here shortly. I'll keep you posted.

Scaper I have a nice 21" 3 speed 5 hp 2 cycle Suzuki Toro commercial recycler with bagger that I will offer in trade.

In need a newer laptop for use in my motorhome while in FLA next winter so I can play my bootleg DVD collection.

And BTW it only needs to have a cd player for me to play DVD movies etc. Go figure!!!
