  • Echo Vs. Shindaiwa

this year im in the process of getting new trimmers and blowers. I currently own 2 stihl, 1 echo trimmer and 1 echo, 1 stihl handheld blower. I want to try a backpack blower this year and i definetley wanna replace my 2 stihl trimmers because their on their last leg but im going to keep my echo trimmer because she runs like a champion just about my question to you all is what kind of trimmers and a backpack blower should i go with echo or shindaiwa because ive been doin some research on shindaiwa and its a tossup please give me your opinions on the 2

I'm a Shin fan. 2 T260s, 2 T261's, a T230 3 EB630's and a LE260. I might get a Shin 4 stroke this year to try. I've owned an old echo backpack and chain saw, but ever since they started selling out to home cheapo, I would stay away from echo.

Echo is still a good brand and Chavez is partly right. However, Rainbird and Toro, 2 respected names in commercial irrigation, also sell at el Home Cheapo. The difference is "homeowner" vs "to the trade".

Don't buy the Echo brand at el Home Cheapo; you are in for a big disappointment. However, go to a independent small business dealer and buy the best commercial option you can afford. That is the difference between a Volkswagon Beetle with the Rolls front end and a Rolls Royce.

I have both and the Echo is smoother but the Shindaiwa has more get up and go to it.

          Echo??

I went and looked at the new Echo backpacks and they seemed to be made out of a LOT of plastic...was not impressed with it...Went and looked at the Shindaiwa and looked like a much better piece of equipment...is this a true assessment...

Oh yeah...The Echo was at dealer and not at Home Cheapo

I haven't been impressed with anything Echo has produced in the last 5 years or so. Seems that they've compromised quality while trying to go after the homeowner market. I would look at Sindaiwa, RedMax or Kawasaki.

I just purchased the Echo 751 this week. Smooth and Powerful so far...

My Maruyama blower is great, but it takes the dealer like two weeks to get any parts from Maruyama, so I went back to an Echo blower (my second).

Just bought a new echo trimmer from ny local dealer. It ran about $340 and came with a 1 year warranty. Its the SRM 230 and its runs reallly well. I previously was using an old Shin. This is much better... its brand spankin new.

i run all echo trimmers and blowers and never had a problem at all. backpack is the way to go. i couldnt imagine using a handheld unless it's for a very small area.

I would go with T260's or T261's, but to each their own

                              Shindawa EB630

I have been told by some locals that the Shin EB630 is the best all around BP blower. I am comparing it to the Red Max EBZ8000 and Stihl BR600.
Anyone have ideas on these three machines?
                              Thanks!
