I just bought a 2000 43" walker the first hour I used it it was fine then I shut it off and when I came back I could not engage the blades is sounds like somthing is locked up you can hear the belt squelling or it will kill it. anyone know what it is? How much?

Lift up the hopper and check the blower. Sometimes grass or rocks will jamb the blower and not allow the blades to engage since it is all connected. If the blower moves, lift the deck and try to manually turn the blades and go from there. Probably something in stuck in the blower though.Corn Flake

No reason to feel stupid at all. Walkers are a unique mower.
Now, if you come back in a week or 2 and ask the exact same question, THEN it's ok to feel stupid.

If your Walker has high Hours you may want to check the pulleys and Idlers. Once they get wore they eat belts. The Belts also want to jump track.
Walkers can be easily be re powered several times and Run for a very long time. I have a 1993 20 hp that is on it's 5 engine at least. Although it is not good as a mower any more it does make a great Fert & Squirt machine. I am actually the third owner of that Walker. I purchased a company and got the Walker that was already a used mower.
