  • Best Chainsaw

What is the best chainsaw you guys have used or heard of? I want something light, but yet strong. I know the big bad boy chainsaws are big.. but for now, i just need something commercial that will get the job done on most average jobs.

Husqvarna 350 is a nice size saw. we have one, plenty of power, and not too heavy.

Husky 359 20". If 20" is too big put a smaller bar. List for 499 at Lowes.Bailey's has it for 399. Print and take it to Lowes and they will match and beat by 10% and you have more saw than you will ever need for 383 bucks. Having a saw that will go through most anything you will ever cut in one pass? Awesome. One down side is buying form Lowes but you will be ripping them a new one.

Stihl 029's have held up exceptionally well. For even faster cutting, get the "yellow" chains, but be careful.

Stihl Farmboss models (029's) are great. At least they WERE great. I have a few and none have let me down. Good power, good design, good running machine.

Having said that, I have heard issues with their new saws. Carb issues. So I would be a little reluctant to buy one right now.

I've been a Husqvarna guy for many years and would not blink an eye at getting one of their saws. Both brands have always been in direct competition. But the Husqvarnas don't seem to be having so many carb issues right now.
