Fellas, I got a problem. My now-sold Scag (Built like a tank, but also heavy like a tank) was making tire indentations in a few yards and it turned into a headache and extra time. I mow in Baton Rouge, LA and I need something that wont leave indentations like the scag, but I want it to be fast and productive. Something to consider- it rains here every day in the summer, but gets hot enough to dry everything out a little.
I'm considering 2 different mowers, if ya could give me a little feedback I would greatly appreciate it:
1) Hustler Super Z 60" w/ 27 hp Kaw or 28 hp Koh.
- Is there really any weight difference b/w the Hustler and the Scag that I had? And, would a Hustler make these same ruts?
2) Dixie Chopper FlatLander 60" w/ 27 hp Kohler
- This mower would take care of the ruts b/c of its light weight, but I'm not sure if Choppers can take down thick stuff like other commercial mowers. I demo'd a 50 inch Flatlander w/ a 27 hp Kohler and my Scag Tiger Cub performed noticeably better than the chopper in thick weeds.
I've done a lot of research, but nothing is better than advice from other people in the business. I'm probably buying tomorrow so any help would be great.
Thanks,
Jim Shipp
