  • compound polish for windshields?

I have small etched sratches on my Ford windshield and wonder what's the best polish I can get to remove the scratches? It's right in the vision area driving me nuts when the sun is shinning at the right angles. Any tips on this? I have a buffer machine I could use to apply the polish on. Going to go to a glass company to see what they say. Ford windshields are cheap.

hey mr. lemonds i just quit a 17yr career in the glass business and if you can feel those scratches at all with your fingernail your sol sorry man ,try triumph or safelite auto glass and tell them you got a price of say 150 installed , my bet is that they will match it, just know from exp. i've worked for both!!! by the way the polish you would need is called cerum oxide it comes in a powder form and you mix it with water if you try it make the consistancy like mustard not to thick but not to runny , polish either left and right or up and down not both , dont stay in one place very long, the heat buildup will crack your glass, just a nice slow motion , it will dry out real quick as you are polishing, dont let it dry out, it can scratch the glass as well , just keep adding more , i always liked to wipe off the dry first before adding more. it will take along time if you have very many at all,and i am serious if you can feel them its to late! oh yeah its very messy to wear old clothes!!! good luck
