  • Stihl 4-Mix vs. others

I have one of these products, Trimmer 100 code.It starts with one pull after choke release and can do thing the old Stihl trimmer could not. The power at low RPM is awesome. You have to becareful as you might destroy your lawn is a second with this beast.

Not one problem so far, Starts much easiler than my Stihl blower a 2 stroke.
I will upgrade blower to a new model I ran a new Husqvarna 356, nice
machine. 429USD seemed a bit much not much power. Have not tried to Stihl BR600 dealer says they do not exsist only in Germany has these.
The RED Max 8000 is a good machine or the Maryauya? The ECho 751H goes for 529USD here.

Also, I was informed that Stihl need value adjustments. Sucks like my Honda
ever 30k valve adjustment and 500USD.

    Chris post

This is not my post, this post is from different website: I wonder if Mr.Chris is correct on his points????

well folks the still 4mix is a carbon copy of shindiawas 4 stroke unit and neither one is much good.we sold the shindiawa 4 stroke units and after i get done doing all the recalls and updates ill be an old man.

i really hate it when a company brings out somthing and claims its te best thing since sliced bread, then we find out it went mouldy and has to come back in for repairs .

eventually they will bring in fuel injection and that will be the end of 4 strokes.

now i know some of you are saying no way but what if i tell you that your precious 4 stroke isnt so clean after all and the only reason they build them at all is so they can earn credits to play off on their not so clean units.

did you know that fuel injected 2 strokes have been tested to run at a mix equal to 400 to 1. they are variable ratio oil injected ...changes with load and rpm.

its complicated now but getting better all the time.

a fuel injection 2 stroke can run cleaner than almost every 4 stroke.

dont beleive me check out a mercury outboard called OPTIMAX...awsome engineering in that thing and cleaner than any other 4 stroke outboard.

i like 4 strokes but they have not earned their place in small hand held ope yet.

    later chris

It seems Chris INCORRECTLY assumes that emissions from a 2-stroke are caused by the oil that is mixed with its fuel. Wrong. A 2-stroke's higher emissions come from the intake charge spilling over and leaving the exhaust port as unburned hydrocarbons.

Direct fuel injection would solve this, but the complexity of such a system on a small, compact, light weight power unit designed for the abuse that OPE takes is asking to have your cake and eat it too. It's NOT going to happen. The weight penalty, complexity, and cost would leave you with a very expensive, unusable trimmer.

Personally, if I were designing a trimmer for the future, it would be all together different. I already have ideas on this exact subject. I would expound upon the principles of this revolutionary machinery, but would rather tinker with it in my spare time and perfect it. Once perfected, I will license the technology to the major OPE manufacturers, and put an end to emissions worries.

        No Valve Adjustments needed 4mix

I just talked to my Stihl dealer yesterday about 4 Mix Stihl equipment.
He stated, he has looked at many and NONE needed any valve adjustment
after 100 hours. He said Stihl gives free valve adjustment none of the
equipment he seen, many, were out of specification.
