  • Tractor mowing.....

Haven't been here in a while, but I wanted to "update" this question.

I'm curious as to what others are charging for CUT tractor mowing of small-medium acreages. I'm equippped, insured, and rarin' to go.....but I'm not sure what to quote. I know prices vary greatly by region, but humor me.
Some like by-the-acre pricing and I've determined I can do roughly 1 acre per hour with my equipment. I prefer per-hour pricing and I'm thinking $30/hr for a 30hp tractor, 5' shredder combo. It would look like there's no difference between the two, but terrain can make a big difference.

So, for someone doing this part-time from his regular job with no notes to pay on the equipment....how's my thinking?

Thanks in advance for all replies...

        Bush Hogging?

There's a guy here that charges $45 an hour with a $150 minimum for Tractor Bush Hog work.

He has one large real estate company that gives him a lot of work, he says when the bill goes over $2,000 in one month he drops it back to $40 an hour.

He said the real estate company is about 50% of his tractor work. If a customer wants an actual quote for total job, he bids it around $60 an hour. He said he's about to discontinue the Quotes & going with Hourly rates only due to all the factors involved.
