I know a contractor that has a kioti, likes it real well. I had heard of some problems with the smaller ones, not sure which ones though. I like kubota, we have a l-2550 4x4, not new, but a nice machine . Does all I want.Originally posted by Steve FisherConsidering moving up the food chain and buying a versatile utility tractor. Kioti and Kubota are two entirely different companies.
I own a Kubota L3010 and 99% of the parts have nothing in common with Kioti. Kubota is a 100% Japanese vertically integrated company. Kioti is Korean. I suspect they both use John Deere oil and air filters.
Up until very recently John Deere designed some parts of their CUTs and Yanmar did the rest. The most outstanding co-development, IMHO, was the JD955. I tried to get one but the resale was so high on a used 955 that it made more sense to buy a new tractor. I did a lot of home work and decided on the Kubota. I recommend you log on to tractorbynet.com and read some of the comments by people on that site. Most are engineers. You can get very good insight before you fork out the big bucks-and they are very expensive-to buy a CUT.
My bottom line recommendation would be to go with one of the “Big Threeâ€. John Deere (I also own one of those guys), Kubota, or New Holland who used to be Ford. You will not go wrong with any of those three. The most important part is A) Does the tractor fit you, B) Do the dealer and you get along, C) Can you afford what you are buying.
Good luck and check out that WEB site. It is by far the best on the net.Incitatus for the US Senate !

Our local Deere dealer is a failed New Holland/Ford dealer from the '90's. Already returned a Deere last year I purchased there and owned 2 days, and MAN what a story (for another time... dang shame too, I would like a GOOD Deere) Kioti dealer is rural dealer and REALLY reputable guy. Kubota dealer suppesedly O.K. and O.K. is best I hear... May go to search more rural/farm implement stores too. Will be a while before I make this purchase. (Considering fencing/small excavation service) And will sell 1 of my homes soon to buy more lawn equipment needed STAT.
Great advice, in answer...
A.) Will try some and see.
B.) NOPE... do not like Kubota or Deere dealer as previous problem w/Deere and went to look @ Kubota/Chopper/Dixon and Billy Goat equipment and could not get any advice/experience except "here's the brochure..."
C.) Then (fall)... not now, (middle of bassin' season!) selling home soon.

Who ever you go with for the tractor chances are that you will do best going to the internet for all the attachments, excluding the bucket. You will want to buy the bucket designed for the specific tractor. They may very well be made by two different manufacturers but both will have the same name. JD/JD or Kubota/Kubota, etc.
Kioti uses First Choice attachments in the Pacific NW, and they are really top shelf. Not horribly expensive either.
Best of luck!Incitatus for the US Senate !
