  • ZTR confusion

We went to our local Kubota dealer to check out the ZD 25 because someone said it was the best. We went to the local Scag dealer to check out a 25hp Kawasaki because someone told us this was the best. We left because the dealer who also also sells Snapper said that it was better than the Scag or any other ZTRs. Now we are 200% confused. Can anyone out there finally answer the question: What is the best ZTR? Is there another website we can consult to compare them? :

The "best" ZTR, out of all the commercial-duty units, is very simple to find.

You look for the BEST dealer support. Will they give you a loaner if yours breaks? Some shops will, some won't. Hell, some shops will BRING THE LOANER OUT TO YOU, and pick yours up! That, my friend, is called SERVICE. And, unless you are very mechanically inclined, and have a stock of parts rolling down the road with you, you are going to NEED service. Not just any service, but outstanding service. Do they keep stock of all the "wear out" items, like belts and blades? Or are you going to be S.O.L. when you need them? Do they also stock other parts as well? Do they commonly have parts overnighted in to their shop? Or do they tell their customers "It'll be here by next week"??

Find out these answers, and you will have found YOUR "best ZTR brand". As far as the individual quirks of each one, they all have them. If there were a perfect mower, there would only be one company making them, and we would ALL own one.

BEWARE of shops only interested in selling you a mower, and then forgetting who you are the first time you need service. Or ones that try and steer you into buying this brand or that brand, because it is "the best". It is the best for them, because they make the most profit on it.

Myself, I would own about any of the big name mowers, as long as the dealer was top notch.

You can go to the (User CP)Edit options,Thread display options, and uncheck the Show avatars box. This will take away all the avatars from the posts if you dont wish to see them or have a slow connection.

          tboy,

The reason Woody's Avatar is that way is because he is no nonsense. He isn't here to tell lies and is certainly a fourm member who knows what he is talking about and will not blow smoke. His statements are true and well spoken. At times on this forum and any other you will have those who write just to write. That is why in my opinon Woody has that avatar. He believes in http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...ck/No_bs-1.jpg

I have a Scag/John Deere Dealer in my area which i will be buying my next mower from because they have loaner mowers in case my machine goes down and they can't fix it that day, they gaurantee any part within 24 hours. They will also bring any machine that I want to try out on one of my customers lawns and let me demo it there. That my friends is one hell of a dealer.

Sounds to me you ought to follow his advice. Since it appears you haven't the skills to make your own repairs and maintenance on out of warranty work, you will need a good reliable dealer.

If you had the skills, you wouldn't be asking.

His avatar is actually quite appropriate. How many times do we give a solid recommendation, only to have the thread carry on...... Or we have "virtually" fixed the problem and folsk who don't read the whole thing confuse the poster.

Some of us bring more to the table than the average visitor, and get tired of having to beat back the naysayers.

If you're offended, you're too sensitive..... and you probably don't like my signature either.
