  • Redmax BCZ2400 trimmer

Hey, I'm new to the forum and I've got a question for you guys... I'm only 16 and I do about 15 or so lawns by myself with a pro 36 gravely. I need a new trimmer. I have the redmax HEZ2500s edger and it is pretty solid. I was looking into trimmers and decided I would stay with redmax. Is this a good desicion or should I go with something else? Is the 2400 too small? Local dealers have mainly stihl, echo, and redmax. Thanks!

I run BCZ2600S's and love them. Haven't ever run a 2400, but I'm sure it's a good piece of equipment as well. If you are just stringing down grass on your normal lawns, it should do fine. A lot of guys run trimmers that are bigger than what is required for the job, and I can't figure out why (I may be guilty of this myself). Smaller trimmer=lighter, uses less fuel, and as long as it has adequate power for the job, it will be more efficient.

I just checked the specs on it. You'll be fine. Myself, I LOVE my RedMax equipment. I believe it's the best stuff made.

Woody I fully agree with you with people running bigger trimmers than needed. I run Echo SRM2100's and never have needed more power. Most of the time don't even go over 1/2 throttle.

            I've Got one.

the 2400 trimmer is a good trimmer for general trimming concerns. In terribly tall "overgrown" areas a bigger trimmer might help, but for day to day op's with it's weight to power ratio it is a good trimmmer, No problems with mine thus far and it is my perferred trimmer I carry on the trailer. I think I gave 239.00 for mine last year.

I was using a Echo 2100 up until this season and I bought a shindaiwa 261x and I love the amount of power it has just a little heavy to use all day long(Great Brushcutter tho with the blade on it) so i went and demoed some lighter weight shindaiwas today.
