  • Good deal on stander???

Alright i found a 2002, 52", stander with 23hp and around 150 hrs. It was used mostly residentialy but "did some jobs for family members".... He is asking $4000... What do you guys think???

When buying used ... get a guarantee in writing ... a statement of "hours" on the machine and try to avoid "as is" purchase especially when you are laying out big dollars ... used price versus new price ...

    Happy and safe buying ...

Won't comment ... other than to say that with new ... you might get a year or two out of a mower with very few repairs ... depend on used and see what a few days down time costs ...

Please be advised that 52" is alot of area for a fixed deck unit. Jack D. advises the extra money be spent on a Sentar.

            I've got a 36" stander, I gave $2200 for it with 230hrs.

I detect that having "manners" isn't one of your strong suits ...

Also take into consideration Jacks advise about the 52" being fixed deck.

What type of lawns do you cut. If there not pretty smooth you could have some scalping.

The 52" fixed deck will be problematic if you are cutting under 3" or on unneven terrain or on hills or berms.

Please note that Jack D. attempted to warn Mr. Skaper of Avalawn inc. about large fixed deck units. Mr. Skaper did not heed Jack D.'s advice and now his brand new Lesco 48" and 52" fixed deck units sit as back ups.

Jack D. has run the 52" Wright Sentar and the new 52" Sentar Sport. The 52" Sentar is a much better choice than the 52" Stander. Please avoid the 52" Sentar Sport.

my lawns are fairly flat for the most part. Do you still think that this would be a problem??

                            Use your judgement.

For 4k what else have you looked at in your area for the money.

With my 36" I've had to be carefull in places and 52" is big difference. Depends on cutting height and terrain.
