you have already got on my case for getting this a$$ and elbowed powered mower. my question is why are there grease fittings on the rear where you adjust the height and not on the front? i don't see any purpose for them. and no i did not look in the manual as i should have.

Well, I am not Jack D. but I do know that there are gears back there. It has nothing at all to do with the height adjustment. Between the axle and the wheel there are reduction gears.

BTW they don't come greased from the dealer - at least mine didn't - so you might want to give it a little extra for the first time.

thanks but i did check the manual today and the grease fittings do not apply to mine as like i said it is a$$ and elbowed powered. i have had it over a year now and just saw them. that shows how much this thing gets used.

Jack D. cannot understand why anyone would purchase 100lb 21" w/no SP, in fact the unit should not even be offered for sale. Perhaps the rear wheel zerk is for wheel bearing grease. On the SP's, Jack D. greases the rear wheels weekly and the gearbox monthly.
