anyone using any of these. There isnt a dealer near me but I've seen some prices on ebay that seem inticing for the money saver in me. However I have no idea what the mower's like. Any advice or pros and cons?

The one concern is the taller you stand or higher you sit on a rider ... or stander ...the greater the chance of getting hit in the head from a tree branch or other obstacle ... that is no small issue ... "SMACK YOE NOGGIN" ... or "use your noggin" ...

... and for laughs ... try watching the ground (the cut overlap) ... and miss seeing a low branch rip across your face ... LOL ... got band aids or a needle and thread?

It must be me, but how inattentive do you have to be to hit a low branch that's right in front of you>
Yes, it can be a problem but with workers like that it may be more imperative to not allow /gum chewing and mowing/ at the same time.
I'd be more worried about backing up a bagging Z rider or Walker and whacking something with the catcher assembly.

Glad you asked ... one LCO is blind in the right eye after walking into a sharp branch ... (he was looking down not forward) ... many have permanent scars from being "lashed" from branches and vines ... heads bashed ? ... who knows ... you have to duck often don't you ?

I believe he was asking about the walkbehind. Not the surfer or chariot.

Hemi, They seem to cut decent, I haven't used one but have seen the cut they leave. Pretty much all I know about them.

Phil, I have a stander and I don't have a problem getting hit. When I'm mowing I pay attention to my surrounding. Piece of cake.

Yessiree. My of my crew is blind in one eye to. but that was from an accident at home years before. All workers wear safety glasses and hearing protection, gloves as well. I stress safety and quality instead of speed while mowing. Id rather have a better job that takes a slightly longer time instead of men hurt on the job.

Mike J thanks for the input... and I was talking about the W/B version... I'm not to keen on the standing ride on... though I have seen a few used abound here... I'm mostly wondering about durability, productivity, quality of cut and ease of use... thanks for all the input guys keep it comin
