  • Permagreen Ride On Spreader

    hey guys!
not new to the site but new to posting...very good information on here.
was looking into buying a permagreen ride on spreader for a very discounted price but here's the catch...no engine, pulleys are rusted through, and front transaxle is frozen but can still be pushed, so basically it's the frame and hopper with all the controls supposedly functioning properly. The engine will not be hard to get but I'm curious about finding the other guts to go inside seeing as a new one is way out of my price range right now. Do you think it's worth rebuilding and having an almost brand new one? or should i just keep the cash? the machine will run me about three or four hundred bucks.
    thanks a lot,

    danny

At 19 years old a Lesco Stainless push spreader at $350 brand new fully assembled will give you a lifetime of trouble free service.

I owned one briefley then took advatange of their buy back program. I wouldn't waste money one one. Buy an older ZTR and mount a spray tank to it and put an electric hopper on the front.

DITTO. I have one and was enthused, but after changing a belt and oil on the Robin engine, it went from a prize to a cursed machine. The belt they sent is too tight and the pump won't go back to the original position.

PM Had said at the time they were using Robin engines because they were "the best". That's crap since they went to Briggs and now a Honda engine. What it really means is that Robins was the only company that would give a fledgling company a deal.

I thought about doing an upgrade, but have since concluded its not a wise business decision. Either do what Mariner suggests, or buy a 100-200 gallon tank and a 300' 1/2" hose on a hose reel. You will probably be happier.
