  • Gravely ZTR

Does anyone on here have any experience with the gravely ZTRs? I'm looking at getting a gravely PM152Z and wanted to get some feedback from some of you. I'll be using it on residential accounts and the dealer , so far is very good. Thanks.

I bought my 260Z this month. 59 hours and it runs great. Throttle sticks and won't come down sometimes, but that is it. I've enjoyed it.

I have looked at most of commercial lawnmowers and for the money I think Gravely is one of the best. I have a 260Z and really like it. The seat is very comfortable and the steering levers are positioned just right. It has a strong frame and deck. The engine has a cowling to deflect heat and noise away from the operator. It has a pivoting front axel which makes it ride somewhat better on rougher lawns. The 25 HP Kawasaki engine has good power and great speed. The only down side is the lack of grease fittings. Most all of the bearings are sealed. The deck spindles are adequate but could be stronger and with grease fittings. I think you would be very happy with a Gravely.

You got some good reviews, but I might point out a few things.

The 260Z described in the previous post has a pivoting front axle while the 152Z does not. The 260Z is one of the ultimate ZTR's in my opinion, but it is a step or two above the 152Z.

That said, I believe the Gravely's to be quality units, albeit slightly overpriced. There are somewhere around 25 companies that make good commercial quality ZTR's. I would make my decision among these brands based on two criteria; the dealer and actual hands on demo of the unit.

          I demo'd a 148Z recently and was impressed.

          Good luck,
          Doc
