  • aerator question ?????

i got a ryan lawnaire IV but i don't have a book. my question is... there is a housing where the pully is that has oil in it. this was way overfilled so i drained it to the proper level cause it was blowing out the top plug . anyway what kind of oil is in this cause it needs changing. is it just regular 30 wt. or something else?

casey, am i right in assuming that you take the side plug out and fill from the top until the oil comes out the hole then you have the correct level ???

I shoot for $35/1000 square feet for aerating and seeding. It usually comes close to 3 times the mow price. That's with seeding at 7lbs/1000 though.

The best thing going in seed around here is Landscape Supply's Southern Lawn Fescue Blend.

                $25/1000

Landscape Supply is on Oak Lake Blvd. in Midlothian and Ridgefield Parkway in the West End. There is a hottie that works at the West End store so go there if possible.

If the yard is $55 to cut . and you use $100 worth of seed, Plus labor + fertilizer+Price of the aerator rental How do you make $ only chargeing 3 Times the mow price.?

I said I shoot for $35/1000 for aerating and seeding.

A $55 cut would be about 8000-10,000 square feet for me. So $165. 56/lbs of seed ($51.52), I don't rent the aerators I own them. Two guys can aerate and seed 8k in an hour easily. So I'm grossing $56.74/manhour.

                        Fert is extra.
