  • Turfco or Bluebird?

Which makes the better overseeder? Bluebird is between1300-1400, Turfco is around 2,000.00. Does anyone use either of them? Probably looking to buy new, have several small renovation, thin lawn overseeding jobs coming up in the spring.

I've not used a Bluebird, but I have the Turfco and it's a pretty good machine.

Sounds good. Have you had to order any parts for it from them directly or do you have a local dealer? Also, what rate per 1000 are you using on seed? I planned on using around 7-8 lbs per 1000. I would, however, put it on at half rate as first pass, as 2nd pass would be at 45 angle across the other pass.

I've never used either. The only experience I've had of the two brands is I've seen the bluebirds used by rental places.
        I use a Ryan between 4 to 10 lbs/1000 depending on what's needed.

Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?

The ryans are nice. They do run between 4-5 grand, though. Thanks for the input.

If you use a Turfco, order factory direct and cut out any middleman who may sell a Turfco.

Depending upon the seed mix 7-10#/1000 is good.
