    MES,
How would you rate the quality of the cut? I was told GH might not be the best finish mower. What is your oppinion.

The only time I notice the cut not being as sharp as it should be is when the blades are dulling or my guys are trying to fly through heavier grass. I have not had any complaints from my customers. I am very picky about our work and I don't have any complaints with the mower.

What about striping? Look good? Do they make a stripe kit for GH? Do you have the steel bagger or the soft bag? Sorry abou all the questions, but when you do get someone to answer your questions I want to make sure I get them all in. Hey, I'm close to the Ohio line, where abouts are you in OH.

Not sure on about a striping kit but ours leave a nice stripe. On the back of the deck is a rubber pad and quite frankly I have been very pleased with the lines ours leave.

Don't worry about the questions, I wish I had a site like this to answer all of those questions when I got started.

North of Columbus, just sitting here listening to the rain, waiting to see if this slop is going to become snow. I am very tired of rain. This stuff doesn't make me any money this time of year. Just something wrong about plow trucks sitting.

I can't say enough about the hoppers. I bought the first one used when we started mowing the larger places. A 721D with 61 inch deck. I changed decks about due to a small discharge and the thing has been a champ. It had a 1000 hours before I had to replace the final drive on one side.

The 220 is our latest one and it has been a solid mower. We unfortunately didn't do enough research on the bagger ( we have the soft bags) and didn't realize they had a steel system for the mower. We are looking at a 900 series with a steel unit but we may get another 721D. Just not sure yet.

I know others are big on other makes but I have been very happy with the hoppers. The dealer I use is about 5 miles away, always have the stuff I need and they treat me real well. That type of service makes me even more of a hopper fan.

Good luck with the unit, I hope you will like it as much as I do.

Hey, I think I have that same problem with the small opening on my Cub. Tank. I feel the opening is just to small. It dosn't discharge longer, heaver grass well. I felt like I was having to double mow to much last season. Thanks again for all the good information. ohhhh forgot, The snow is on it's way. started about 2hrs. ago here. Coming down pretty good!

True, GH doesn't stripe as nice as some, but I love them. I bought my first one in 1991, and still believe in them today. They work really nice on slopes, I even have one steep hill, I have to back up. The guy who did it before me had trouble with his four wheel drive Deere, but with the GH backing up, they'll crawl up any slope.

              I love them!

                Great Mowers

I have run grasshopper mowers since 1997. started with a 614 48"16hp briggs and upgraded to a 725k2 with G2 drive a 9861 61' deck. I have had no trouble with either and just replaced tires and some belts on the 97 614 . only thing I have done to it . The 48' does not handle wet or tall grass well. the 61" is an animal and does not care. great machines! sounds like a deal to me.

                    Bulldog,

The snow petered out before it got here. It left almost an inch, did a little salt app but nothing else.
