  • Husqvarna-232-R

Just bought a brand-new brushcutter, husqvarna 232-r. Crapload of power, solid drive shaft, absolutely love it. Landed a fairly large brush & tall grass clearing job ( 2 days), easily paid for itself. Not cheap, about $500. Anyone else use em. I highly recommend.

Probably the last "old school" trimmer on the market. Built like a tank.

That is pretty much identical to my beloved 225's that I always talked about.

I also bought a 232 about 2 years ago because the 225's can't be had anymore. I think that they are identical. They look identical, weight is identical and they feel exactly the same.

I think Husky stopped making the 225's and just called the new ones 232's.

The 225's always seemed like they were WAY stronger than any 25cc I ever used. And every new employee thought the same thing "No way is this thing only 25cc's".

I usually use the smaller lighter Husky's. When I do pick up the 225's and use them instead, I am always amazed at the difference. I think it's strange how the 225 can cut through anything, even with the same sized trimmer line. Even spinning slower. I just don't get it.

Wait till you use that thing on some thick edging, it cuts through it like nothing. It doesn't even strain. I think I got mine cheaper than $500 though. Like $430 or so? I'd have to look. If it's a good unit, it will last you forever. Ours never stopped, even 10-13 year units.

P.S. - My 232 got swiped in that shop robbery we had a few months back.

My dealer doesn't sell a lot of em. He always has a few in stock. I like doing business with them because, they know what they'e selling, what works or won't work. Very knowledgable. I believe it's gonna work out well.

I had a Husky 232 string trimmer. A real beast of a trimmer, but not the lightest thing out there. I love husky trimmers.
