  • Echo Trimmers

If I were to get new Echo trimmers which one would you all reccomend? I prefer lightweight and powerful trimmers. I like my RedMax but would prefer something that I can get repaired locally. All but one commercial dealer has closed up shop and the Echo dealer is the only thing left.

Anyone know of any drawbacks to Echo equipment?

i got two srm 260's (i think that's the #) i have never had any problems other than i had to swap a head out once. just do your routine maintanance like anything else and they'll be good to go. i don't have any problems with any of my echo stuff. i keep plugs and filters on hand plus an extra head just in case.

I use 261T it is very powerful and light. The next model up is a lot heavier. I run the thick string and it will cut through anything. The only thing I have replaced is one that got stolen. They are close to $400

Next closest one would be a tie in drive time. Branson, MO or Mtn. Home, AR
30 -45 minutes depending on traffic. Tourists and road construction both ways.

              Thats it. Nada, nothing.
The one ZTR dealer left sells Great Dane. I was there getting oil filters for my Kaw engines the other day and he has NO inventory but they were working indoors and out on all makes and models of homeowner chit.

I have a SRM 260. 2 years old had to have the carb cleaned once professionally and I did the plug and air filter twice already. Still strong, no big complaints. I need a new head but I keep putting that off.
                Put me out of service.
