  • What to buy

I am part time in the south.

I have been using a 33" Troybilt WB belt that i have put a new motor on last year. The deck is pretty beat up now and it is in need of new spindles and blades.

The deck just broke from the mouting locations so to get through this month, i have just welded it up.

It will not last another year without a new deck which I am told is no longer available.

With that, I am wondering what is reasonable to pay for a newer mower.

I am wanting either a 36 or 42" WB that is not goign to cost more than 2k in price.

Like I have said, I am PT so i only brought in 4k worth of money this year and don not see having to purchase any new trimmers/edgers/blower in the next few years. I have newer models of those stuff just not a mower.

Thanks for any help. I know it is late in the season so If i can get a better deal in the winter sales or would it be wise to wait until the 08 models hit the stores for the better deals.

Is spring when newer models come in?

    Thanks for all the help.

I have mostly residential wiht no gates and not that large of yards.

Next summer/fall when i have both kids in school i can up my clients and make more.

    Thanks again,

    Lost in the south,

    Travis

Better Outdoor Products has great mowers. I have never personally used one but only hear great things! I would check them out if you want a good mower at a low price. Otherwise get eXmark!

I have done over their website very well. I wish I could see one up close without having to drive 350 miles to see one.

I am a person that likes to know what I am buying. the local Ace will let me "borrow" a Toro for a day to see how i like it.

That Toro at the Ace hardware is probably not a commercial mower...............

Agreed...............go visit your local small engine/mower shop.

What's cheaper now usually equates to being more expensive later.

they are a stihl dealer and parts place and they do have commercial mowers as well.

We have a few places to go but unfortunately don't have much to "look" at.

I took 2 hrs to look over everything on teh Quick mowers and I am impressed with the features for the price definetly. I have read the reviews on here as well. NOW if i can find one to see in person locally would be great?
