  • Exmark or Scag?

What ZTR does the forum recommend between a 48" Scag or Exmark?

How long will the gas engine be expected to run before an overhaul? My JDs lasted about 1700 hours.

Any thoughts on engines? I like Kaw-anything better?

    Thanks!

I have nothing but good things to say about my Scag ztr's. I have the Wildcat 27hp LQ with collection system and the Turf Tiger. The only problem I have had was a broken spring the first week with the Turf Tiger. Thier but like a tank. Good luck. I have demoed the Exmark and did like the machine as well.

      I like scag -
I have never used an exmark but I was sold on the exmark at the dealer until I went to the Scag dealer and I bought it that day. Since than I have talked to a few people that traded in the exmark for a Scag or wished they could. The Exmarks are cheaper I think

Equipment is only as good at the maintenance you perform on it. That said, I have no experience with Scag, but I would favor Exmark in your position. Great mowers, you won't be disappointed.

It's likely a complete toss up. Both are good.

I know Scag had issues a few years ago with their ZTR's, but I believe that's all been fixed.

I would buy either one without hesitation.

I'll go with the supplier with the best service. My Kubota dealer sells the Exmark so they have a definite advantage for now.
I need to do a lot more home work.
                Thanks!

I have used eXmark befor ..... did not like it.
Go with the Scag if you have a good dealer.

This thread just proves opinions are like azzes, everyone has one, but everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

It's a push. They're both great mowers. It'll be of no consequence to choose one over the other.
