Why do so many schools, Univ. etc. Use Toro?

Ok, you see Toro at every schoo Univ., Street departmen and large complex, why don't you see many Lawn Care comp. using them? Is it price or do they give huge discount to these people?

Toro donated a chit load of equipment/irrigation parts to the KSU University Gardens (not the maintenance dept). Toro came in, along with the president, and replaced all the rainbird heads with toros. So I'm sure they'll always be using Toro here on out.

It's not just the price of those big Toro Groundsmaster mowers, it's the fact that they are very large machines to move from lawn to lawn.

Some companies around here use them for big big areas.

Ok, I can understand the large equipment. But why not use thier ztr's and they have a new stand up unit coming out this year? I have a toro dealer that in now my plow dealer and I have enjoyed working with him. We have not even talked about mowers. So I might have to bring it up, it must be pretty good equipment for these other places to use them.

The government and ISD business is very important to Toro, they give huge discounts to those entinties to keep that product in there. As far as zero turns go the Dallas market is loaded with them. The big 3 are Toro, Scag and Exmark with Gravely really making a huge push in this market. Exmark has really taken a big hit in Dallas and I wold assume Gravely will displace them to take that number three spot
