  • Opinion on this 21in trim mower

I'm looking to get a new 21in mower and I'm considering the Snapper CRP2160KWV mulching mower.

It has a 6hp Kawasaki, the Ninja mulching system and weighs 90lbs.

I'll be cutting everything from St. A, to centipede to bermuda.

Is this a good purchase for $750 or should I look elsewhere?

Scott, I never really had any issues with my Snapper and Kaw mower. I don't think you can go wrong.

On the other hand, one dealer near me had a new commercial frame, but no engine. He put a new 6.5hp Briggs on it and sold it for pretty darn cheap.

The engine will surely die, but the frame will not. So I can just swap out engines when needed.

I don't know why he had that frame, maybe other dealers keep them in stock as well, I don't know.

The other few Snappers we have are strictly light weight push mowers. If it is totally used for just a trim mower, I think they have a REALLY light unit that is like 18" wide?

I don't think they mulch as good as the Toro super recyclers, but they are certainly good enough. And I think the frames (especially the wheels) are built better than their comparable Toro counterpart.
