Is it worth changing over to ECS controls?

What is the advantage of these controls? I currently use pistol grip on my current mower but since I am getting this mower fixed I might change it.

Is it easy to change out instead of letting the shop do it for more money?

Biggest equipment mistake I made was a 48" Lesco Belt mower. Yes it pulled a Velky, but turning it was a B!TCH. A sulky would be worse.
