Considering purchase of first zero turn and have narrowed down to Scag Turf Tiger STT61V w/29 hp Kawasaki or Kubota ZD326P w/26 hp Kubota. Would appreciate advice on which model you prefer and why. Also, approximately what bottom line price for a straight purchase should I expect.

I can't comment on the kubota because I have no experience with them. But the 29 dfi kawi is definitely a great motor. Has much more favorable fuel consumption numbers than any carburetor and you don't have to deal with choking it or anything. But make sure to keep all the terminals on the fuel pump and fuel pump relay clean and well greased. We've been having alot of problems with these motors there. The scag velocity deck gets great reviews and does it's job well. As far as price I know where I work you'd be looking at about 12,500 for a 61 inch scag with the dfi motor. Like I said I know nothing about the kubota so I'm not going to say the scag is ultimately better, but I can say it is a great machine and when well taken care of it would be tough to beat.
