Hi everyone, I have a problem with my Lesco hydro walk behind mower. The hydraulics that turn the wheels will not turn after the mower has been sitting for a little while. I will have to let the mower run for about 2 minutes then slowly the wheels will start to turn. I will cut one lawn then put the mower on the trailer to go to the next property and when I get there the mower will not move, it can be as short as a 5 or 10 minute ride on the trailer. After I let it run for a few minutes it will go fine, its just the initial 2-3minute start up when the mower will not move. The mower only has 100 hours on it and I changed the hydraulic fluid with 20w50 and also changed the filter about 40 hours ago. This problem developed about 15 hours ago. It cant be a bad motor because then just one wheel will not turn but this problem causes both motors not to turn at the same time. I am puzzled, any help or tips would be appreciated. Thank You!

I have 2 of their walk behinds and haven't had any issues.
Just out of curiousity, have you checked to make sure the pressure release valve/bolt is completely tightened on the pump?
By the way, you don't really need to change that fluid very often. I thought most mower hydro systems ran with Mobil 1?a.k.a.---> Erich

Different Problem, same mower
Hi. I hope this isn't a breech of netiquette, but I have the same mower and a different problem. I thought I might post here in case someone has had this problem before.
My Lesco, 48" walk-behind was purchased used last spring, with only 60 hours on it. I manage properties, about 5-6, so I use it more than most residential users, but I'm not quite commercial mower. It may have a little over 100 hours on it now.
It has run okay (though never as powerful as I would have expected) , but today I fired it up and after a few passes it belched a little bit of black smoke. Then it lost most of it's power. It was about to die, so I disengaged the blades. It slowly started to creep back up to it's normal operating speed (3100 rpms). But when I tried to start mowing again, it lost all it's power and died.
I can start it, but if I engage the blades and take it into the grass, it will lose power and eventually shut off.
I know, I could try changing the fuel filter, air filter, chage oil, etc. But, it doesn't seem like those problems could cause such a sudden loss of power. Does anyone have any thoughts?
I appreciate your help and advice. Thanks in advance!
,Mike
