so far i like the machine........
i think it's far more comfortable to operate than a walkbehind with a velke/sulky. IMO it cuts better than the exmark tthp i replaced it with, the platform is better than the wright standers and the controls are a little easier to use. the stationary bars in the front and back of the controls make it easier for me to operate than when i tested a wright stander. the plateform is larger for my big feet. it is also a quicker machine than my exmark was. being able to change the height of cut without messing with pins and cottors is GREAT and the adjustable baffle really does help.
MM does have a point in my other thread about waiting until i get 100 hours on it. but that thread was my initial opinion. once i get 100 hours i'll try and post another thread. although i will say my opinion of the machine hasn't changed of yet. there are a few things i don't care for but i didn't care for them then either.

I must wonder about your comparison to a Wright Stander given your loyalty to The Toro Company. Surely you've clocked a minimum of 50 hours thus far......right? :alien::alien::alien:Originally posted by spotremix View Postthe platform is better than the wright standers and the controls are a little easier to use. the stationary bars in the front and back of the controls make it easier for me to operate than when i tested a wright stander. the plateform is larger for my big feet.

yes i've clocked at least 50. don't have the exact number off the top of my head though and i know it's not 100 yet.Originally posted by MASTERMOWER View PostI must wonder about your comparison to a Wright Stander given your loyalty to The Toro Company. you can wonder about my comparison all you want. loyalty was not the deciding the factor and never is when i make equipment purchases.
as soon as i found out toro was making a stand on i was pumped. once it came out and i got a chance to look at it and test drive one i did. BUT i also test drove a wright stander and some brand called scorpion???
neither the wright stander or the scorpion pleased me as much as the toro stand on. the wright standers platform is inbetween the wheels not giving my big feet a whole lot of room. i had to keep my legs completely together in an uncomfortable standing position, the same was true of the scorpion. this is not so with the toro.
those 2 models did not have a stantionary bar behind the controls either. i didn't like that and felt it was harder to manuever in the backwards motion.
for ME the toro grandstand was the better mower and the better purchase.
afterall superiority is a matter of opinion from one guy to the next......

Soooooooo...what was better on the Wright Stander vs. the Toro? I know you test drove multiple stand-on units, but I don't think you overcame the prestigious Toro badge. Do you remember when you told us you didn't understand the point of a stand-on mower.....but then Toro introduced the Grandstand and you were all over it like a fly on ****. I also believe you said you were gonna drive drive it once your dealer had one in stock. Did you not consider test driving a Wright unit prior to this? It's hard to convince us your opinion on stand-on mowers count for much.Originally posted by spotremix View Postas soon as i found out toro was making a stand on i was pumped. once it came out and i got a chance to look at it and test drive one i did. the only thing i found better on the wright stander than the toro was the floating deck.

Are you able to use the Grandstand in every situation that you once used a walkbehind?

What stander did you test drive??Originally posted by spotremix View Post

Floating deck makes me think it was an RH. How many times do I have to tell people that the RH is a piece of over-engineered crap.
52" fixed deck.
Nice and simple.
