Floating deck makes me think it was an RH. How many times do I have to tell people that the RH is a piece of over-engineered crap.

    52" fixed deck.

    Nice and simple.
i'm sure it was the RH then.....

i prefer the floating deck. i wished the grandstand had the floating deck, but over the other stand on mowers i demo'd the grandstand was the one for me.

Can you cut all the steep areas, the areas you normally would walk rather than ride a sulky? What do you do when it starts to slide, etc.?

Have to agree. The floating deck on my John Deere is nothing but a pain in the ass. I think I only lift it up in one area on one lawn of mine to prevent scalping. Other than that it's annoying.....

Yo Sport, just how awkward is it to walk behind the unit? I can't see it being like using a walk-behind mower...appears like you'd be whacking your feet on the tires or whacking your shins on the frame of the mower...unless you take baby steps. If I'm correct with this assumption, why bother making a goofy fold down riding platform other than to maximize trailer space? IMO, this mower will evolve over the years after feedback from the industry.

i can cut the steep areas. i've never walked behind my walkbehind and i've never walked behind the stander. i have always been able to mow every property while standing behind the machine whether on the sulky in the past or now on the stand on mower.

i prefer floating decks, less chances for scalping a lawn than a fixed deck.

while i've never mowed walking behind it, i have tried it out in my driveway. it is a little awkward. not because i whack my feet on the tires or my shins on the frame but because the controls are at the height for standing on the platform not for standing on the ground so the controls are extremely high when standing on the ground.

i know there point for the fold up platform is so you can make it a walkhind and to maximize trailer space. for me though i don't walkbehind it and the platform stays down unless i need the extra room for something.

Hey thanks for answering my questions. I appreciate it. Since there is no Toro dealer in Knoxville I will probably get the Exmark version that is due out this fall/winter. Probably will wait for a 60" size since I run 60" Exmark walkbehinds and don't want to downsize. Wished these units had a donaldson air filter system though.

Good call. Exmark will improve upon the Toro version.

While the frame and major components will be the same, I guarantee there will be differences elsewhere. You don't see ECS on Toro do you?

not yet you don't. i've heard through the grapevine though toro is considering streamlining everything. they already are applying tech from each other in there mowers. toro is using some of exmarks ideas and vise versa.

There will always be differences, if even minute. They've been implementing shared technology on their mowers for years, that's nothing new. :alien::alien::alien:

The new toro stand on looks nice. After looking at both I would choose it over a wright.
