  • Where do you buy your mower blades?

I still use a bench grinder set up and hate paying retail for anything, including mower blades; where do you guys get yours?

I need Kubota, John Deere and Honda.

    Thanks!

I get mine from a local mower repair shop.
They are made in France. Hold up real good.

We have a Neary blade grinder w/ruby wheel, a Magnamatic balancer and 2 spare sets for all machines. We generally buy OEM blades, and usually in fall or early spring they go on sale so the price is close to aftermarket.

The reason why to buy OEM? A Toro GM 72 blade is .275 thick (oem). The Oregon replacement is .203 thick, and the HD is .250. Our Hustler walkbehinds use high lift bagging blades which we get from the dealer. The aftermarket only offers the low lift. For a buck or two more, I'll go OEM
