• Cub?

I am new to all of this, I will be opening my own Lawn Care Company in the spring and I have some questions on equipment and what not. I was wondering is Cub Commercial a good brand to use? I have a dealer that I know very well, I can get absolutely great prices on it, but I don't know the reputation of it in the Commercial market. Also, I was going to buy the following to do residential Lawns, but don't know if I need all of it or not.
60" ZTR mower
32" Walk Behind
21" Push Mower
Edger
Hedge Trimmer
Weedeater
Back Pack Blower
Material collection system of some sorts.

Also, I was wondering, for residential accounts, how soon should I start putting out flyer? Febuary or March?

Thanks for the help- its a great forum

Welcome to the forum Kate while we are unfamiliar with your machinery over there so can't help you, however the dealer should know what's good or not, I mean they may not always tell you the truth but if you're friends you have a better chance then most of us hehe. Just a thought, but it's great that you have asked at this forum as the people on here obviously know better then anyone whats good and whats not.

We wish you all the best when you you do open your business!

Kind regards & all the best

Kate,

I have been using CUB commercial products for several years. Since my start up. My equipment consist of:

M54 Tank ZTR w/Vacuum and castor option on deck
2 - ST23 String Trimmers
24HC - Hedge Trimmer
19EHC - Hedge Trimmer
BB60 - Back Pack Blower
Model 2185 - Lawn Tractor w/48" heavy duty deck with castor option

They all work great.

The ZTR has a real nice cut which my customers have noticed and commented on. It also disperses the grass clippings real well with the newly designed deck in 2001. The 2002 models of the Tank also have been upgraded with a new hydrodic drive system.

I am looking to buy another Cub Tank and the prices are good. Here you can get an M54 with the 23hp Kawasaki for $6050.00 plus tax and the M60 for around $7100.00.

I to have pretty much all cub equipment, my list is. M-60 tank,MTD 48" hydro W/B with swivel wheel sulkey, st-26 trimmer,BB60 blower, Hedge trimmer, vacuum system for M-60, grass gobbler for 48", leaf rake for M-60, dethather that fits both, made from Home Depot pullbehind 48", it hooks to the mount for the plow and homemade setup on hydro mower. I to will be adding another tank 60", here they run about $7300.00. Like Maddog I get alot of compliments on the cut quality both mowers do, especially the Tank, they have rollers mounted behind the deck as standard equipment.
