  • Dixie Chopper

Does anyone here use a dixie chopper. I have seen some VERY impressive work done with this. While the company itself seems to say it's speed is what makes it so good, I am very interested in purchasing one for the job it does (when used the right way of course)!

I WANT ONE, with all it's accessories!! Our only problem here in Australia would be convincing our customers to let us cut their lawns longer!

    What do you guys think?

we have 2 toro's a exmark and a dixie chopper the dixie chopper is the best machine we have ever owned and ours is a 2001 the 2002 are even better. The machine with kohler motors have bypass filters that let a lot of dixie owners get 3000 and 4000 thousand hours on their machines. The bypass filters and heavy duty air filters make these machines last a very long time

Here we cut at 3 to 3.5 inchs and use double blades on our dixie .
Stripeing lawns around my area is what all the rich want they like the ballpark look stripes. This is what dixie excells at.
I have a friend in new zealand and if you guys in aussie mow as low as he does i dont know how the dixie would do mowing that low.
He uses a walker made special to mow low.I think he said he mows at less then a inch

Ah Good ol Kiwis they want to cut the grass to within a 1/8" of its life. Most home owners like short lawns, good for the weeds! and fertilizer is a dirty word. Most domestic mowers here cut down to 1/2", and heeps of owners cut em that low!
Hard to convince people that longer is better. But the customer is always right!
