  • 36 belt drive husky peerless 5 speed tranny

Has anyone experienced replacing one of these? I need some direction if possible. Where do you go to order parts?

Pretty simple really. I've always went to a dealer for parts. The transmission is one thing you could order online, but most other parts are brand/model specific. Do replace the shafts and couplers at the same time esp. with an older 35 spline tranny.

First you'll have to remove both shafts, usually only kept in place with snap rings. Remove the drive belts, remove any guards if present, then look for the rings.

Once the shafts are gone, remove the pulley underneath the tranny. You'll probably want to remove the shifter handle as well.

Now just unbolt the transmission, replace with new, and put it all back together again. Just have a pulley puller on hand for the pulley removal. :alien::alien::alien:
