    Hey guys,

I just started this season. I haven't yet purchased a ztr or hydro w/b. I have seen several competitors in the area. Dixie Chopper by far seems to have the best cut of any ZTR I have seen. I don't care for how the Scag's cut. But I also want a Hydro W.B. what is the best.

eXmark TTHP or TT depending on your cut size needs. Toro makes a nice hydro unit as well but their SFS deck don't compare to eXmark's Ultra Cut& Tri-Vantage decks.

Haven't used one but Gravely's new WB's look good as well. Double blade kit & removable front baffle for long grass should make for a very versatile WB. Unfortunately they only come with pistols.

I only have Cub Cadet commercial mowers due to availability and dealer support so I realy can't help with the other brands.

Cub has come out with a new deck style for their ZTR's (Tank series) and their walk behind mowers. They have a real nice cut.

I dont know where you live, but it has always seemed to me that certain brands sell better depending on where you live. In VA, toro is King, in MD where I work, Scagg and Exmark are King with some Bobcats around too. I just purchased a 52inch Toro ZMaster SFS deck. It works awesome. You can cut 2-3X more grass with a ZTR hydro than with a 52inch walk behind hydro. Its just plain faster in all my experiences. Not to mention, easier on you.

I think the Toro has the best air flow system under the deck, but the previous poster seems to think the opposite.

As for handheld equipment. I have moved away from Echo, when I start seeing them selling their equipment in Home Depots, I stop buying it. I hate Stihl, bought an edger from them, it is brand new and sucks. Never starts, weak and slow power response. I love Shindaiwa equipment. They make all parts for their equipment, through and through. The best man! Trimmers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, I use it all. It is growing fast among companies in my area. I would never buy anything else now.

        Good luck.

I have a 48" Lesco WB and it gives by far the best "striping" I have ever seen! Around here John Deere WB's and Toro WB's, ZTRs are the popular mowers...

There aren't many Lesco mower dealers, as they specialize in Golf Course Fertilization products; but their mowers are unbeatable!

          Good luck!

ExMark and Scag seem to be rated very high, then Toro?

Shop all Scag products including zero-turn riding mowers, wheeled blowers, walk-behind mowers, truck loaders, spreaders, sprayers, and more. Made in the USA.

Discover Toro’s leading line of commercial lawn mowers with professional-grade features engineered to handle extreme conditions and challenging terrain.
