  • Blower/Vac

    Hello All,
Was wondering if any of the back pack blower vacs out there are any good? With Fall coming up there will be a lot of leaves. Would it be recommended that I invest in one? If so, in opinions on which one?

No....none of the vac attachments for backpacks are as good as the hand-held models for vacuuming. Nothing to do with the brand, but the way the vac is set up on a backpack.....venturi-type system. OK for cig buts, but not much else.

I am interested in this too. Does anyone have experience with handheld blower/vacs. I was thinking about using one to clean out of tough to reach places like beds, etc. to remove leaves and debris. Although, you dont see many companies using them, or at least I dont. Any brands to recommend either.

I have a handheld blower/vac that I got a long time ago to use around the house. It is awkward to use and didn't seem to do a very good job. I have been using a backpack blower to blow out beds and then either using the bagger on one of the mowers or if to heavy I use rakes and tarps.

I run some Echo Shred N' Vac's (commercial model/2400 I think). Good only for window wells & the bottom of stairs, occasionally light hedge clippings. Useless for cleaning out beds. Much faster to blow them out & then mulch/bag/ or tarp.

Last year we had a hand heald blower/vac and used it at one leave job that we blowed the leaves into piles then attempted to suck it up LOL it was a mistake it took like a min. too fill the bag up. Well we decide to pile the leaves on tarps and dump in the woods much much quicker!!

I tend to stay away from the hand held vacs/blowers myself for leaf removal/fall cleanup. My set up is BackPack blower, Walk Behind Blower, and Leaf vac mounted on the truck. I use the backpack for the beds and hard to get at places, use the walk behind to get the pile out to the curb and vac them up into the truck.
