There are tons of people on here that will tell you that the brand they use is the best. Use your own judgement.
Nothing wrong with the Toro's though. They are very reputable. They've been around a very long time.
It all comes down to personal preference. As long as it is commercial quality you should be good to go. You might own 10 Toro's throughout your career and never have a problem. Then you buy one and it gives you nothing but problems. It happens. Then you (proverbialy) start bad-mouthing Toro.
I have a lawnboy and I probably would not get one again. Too many problems with MINE. Side chute gets clogged even if the grass is a little damp. I have to go over half of my yards twice. I know 100 guys who swear by them though and have never had a problem. You never know! One in a million fluke. lol
I have no idea what I would buy next.

Take off the metal bar that runs under the side chute & your problem will go away.Originally posted by mikeslawnservice

You can also add a 18" gator blade in dry or a 16" high lift in wet on top of the stock blade.
Also check your RPM's. Be sure they are set at least at factory but preferably 200 over.
You will never have to double cut.

Well if we're still answering questions about the mowers I personally like the Toro's. The only problems I've ever had is with the newer one I bought last year. It seems that the more I use it the personal pace system is going out, but I really like the Toro's.
By the way my last toro lasted like ten years, and I swear the last couple years it really was haulling asss across the lawns. (I eventally hit a stake and sold it to a fellow who fixes them up - I think he got it in pretty good working condition again and sold it)Nathan Spirk

Jack, i never noticed that and i've used both; but i also did no do the adjustments you were talking about in an earlier post. I really had no trouble with the toro unless i let it get really really too long, which only happens on my own lawn - and then its only with the mulching, o well.Nathan Spirk
