John Deere

Hey all, i've posted this question before and maybe it was just ignored or somethign else, but i'm going to ask it again. I use john deere walk behind mowers, and can't seee anything wrong with it except for the printed decks. I can't see any where, where there could be refining or room for all that much improvement. I was wondering why no one ever mentions them and no one has an oppinion of theM???? please reply if you don't have any experience with them, as i understand the vast majority use exmark, encore, scag, or standers.

I am not fond of John Deere.

Over priced for just cause of name recognition, and just recently they are trying to do someting in the commercial lawn care with their mowers.

JD=MTD

I have a friend who works at the factory where they are put togeather and sometimes made ...next to or after the mtd, ranch king, sears,toro,ect in other words the build is the same as the the other things made some things are the same but to few to count

MTD and Lesco, not JD

MTD may have made some for JD in the past, but they are not affilated with JD.

Huskavarna has made deere

New Holland has made deere

Ford has made deere

I think it all in what is available in your area, cost, service and support when it comes to equipment.

You don't here much about the Cub Cadet equipment here either but most of my equipment is Cub. I perfer the Cub string trimmers over the Stihl and so do most of the people that work for me.

If the JD does the job and the support is good then go for it.

For me no one in the area compares to the Cub Cadet dealer as far as knowledge, support etc. so I will stick with them until they change.

ive used deere w/bs for years, both fixed and hydros all 17 kawas. ive had very good luck with them. theve always cut nice and are easy to service imho.

Ive owned several GS-30 series. I began buying them when i obtained a cut that had 23 little court yards in the middle. 3 steps in 3 steps out. Very hard on w/b. GS-30 new in crate $2500 w/ velkie. 48". Bought 2 at a time for 4 years straight. Ive sold off most of them but i have still have 3 sitting in the back of the shop. the velkies are stripped off them but they still run. We still run 1 on that day. Its the most dreaded cut in the city i think. If you dont wear gloves you have blisters from fingertips to elbows when your done. but the deeres dont seem to mind it. Over all though deere hasnt impressed me in commercial mower industry. I dont think they have made much effort actually. If you ever in a bind and need a cheap w/b new look at a GS-30.
