  • Push Mowers

I have a Honda 21" mulching push mower, not pleased with it, wondering if any one knew of a better push or self propeled mower to buy, should I get a comercial or residential mower?
I use the mower on 5 to 10 lawns a day.

I use lawnboy, had great luck with them. Toro makes a decent 21'' also, but like the lawnboys real well.

First of all, how big are these lawns? Are you mowing the whole lawn with this push mower or just using it for a trim mower? If you have 25-50 accounts like you say you should be able to at least finance a bigger mower than a 21". That is, if you can afford it. But yeah, definately go commercial...unless you just don't use it very much and couldn't justify buying a $1000 21" mower like in my case. Just get a GOOD residential mower. I have a Cub Cadet that has a 6.5hp Kawasaki on it and it is plenty for what I need. It ran me about $470. But I would try and look into a bigger mower if possible.

        commercial 21

I had a homeowner grade lawnboy 2 cycle and the discharge chute clogged a lot. I used it commercially and got 2 years out of it. Does this happen on the commercial grade mower? No doubt the commercial engine will be much better. What are some of the other props on this mower.

            I have 10 Lawnboy, 4 Toros & 1 Honda 21".

The LB push is the best all around.

I looked at the specs. on the Lawnboy website for commercial pushmowers. It ways 74 pounds with no self propelled. The comparable Honda weighs 90.
